How many times have we cribbed about the characters not fitting into a role they play on-screen? We are sure you don’t remember the count!
So, let’s do some good job by praising a few production houses for a brilliant job of getting a perfect cast together.
Well, the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards is here to do the same in the award category titled Ensemble.
Here’s a list of shows nominated under this category…

So, let’s do some good job by praising a few production houses for a brilliant job of getting a perfect cast together.
Well, the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards is here to do the same in the award category titled Ensemble.
Here’s a list of shows nominated under this category…
Alphabetically, Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum (Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt. Ltd) falls first in our list. This show is the number one in the TRP ratings which clearly indicates that the audiences like almost everything about it. Especially, the leads of the show Sooraj and Sandhya are being essayed well by Anas Rashid and Deepika Singh, while the rest of the cast too fits in well. We have also heard that the cast is more like a family on the sets and probably that’s what shows on-screen.
Yes, another Star Plus show that comes under the Ensemble category is Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (Cinevistaas Limited). This show undoubtedly has one of the most appealing cast and we are sure that the cast will be known as a dream cast after a while on TV. Who wouldn’t want to see a Krystle D’souza, Karan Tacker, Niaa Sharma and Kushal Tandon put together?
Sony Entertainment Televisions’ Parvarrish - Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi (DJ’s A Creative Unit) managed to get back the most gracious Shweta Tiwari on TV as the lead. But, this time, the show started with her playing a mother of two. Shweta and Vivek Mushran as parents of two fit well. And so do Rupali Ganguly and Vishal Singhhas parents of three. The serial also has young talents like Aashika Bhatia, Sparsh Khanchandani, Vivek Madan, Tapasvi Mehta and Aanchal Munjal.
Next on our list is a show that’s high on TRPs. This one is Star Plus’ Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara (Rajshri Productions). The production house is known for its casting, hence even this time they did not go wrong. Newcomers Disha Parmar and Nakkul Mehta fit the bill to the ‘T’ as leads of the show, while, Mukesh Khanna as Purushottam Deewan a.k.a. Nana takes every scene to a different level.
Had it not been for the casting in SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Neela Telefilms), it wouldn’t have been the number one show on the channel. From Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) and Daya Ben (Disha Vakhani) to Nattu Kaka (Ghanshyam Nayak), every actor in this show is meant to play the characters they are playing. Thus, the show definitely deserves an award.
