Now, Mohan Joshi to play Thakur in Imagine show

First it was Laali of Agle janam mohe bitiya hi kijo and now we have Bairi piya’s Amoli who’ll be sold to the evil Thakur Digvijay Bhadoria. The Thakurs and the Amolis are now in great demand as TV producers look to exploit this saga which plagues rural Indian even today. While the plot remains the same, the only thing that changes is the region. So, if an Agle janam.. shows Bihar, Bairi Piya Maharastha, producer Yash Patnaik is all set to showcase the plight of the poor girl in Chhattisgarh. While the search for such a girl is still on, Patnaik has finalised acclaimed actor Mohan Joshi to play the role of Thakur in his untitled show for NDTV Imagine. (Joshi played the antagonist in big hits like Vaastav and Gangajaal) “Mohan Joshi has been all but finalised to play the role of a Thakur. The show is based in Chhattisgarh. The story is about a poor girl being sold to an elderly Thakur. However, it is not like your Agle janam.. or Bairi piya. Our story is a little different. It’s expected to come around by January,” said a source. When contacted, Joshi confirmed the news saying, “It’s true that I’ll be doing Beyond Dreamz show for NDTV Imagine. I’ve signed for the show already.” We called producer Yash Patnaik but he was busy in a meeting. Beyond Dreamz has produced shows like Babban bhai vs Vimla tai, Monica Mogre and Chehra.
