Television is undoubtedly a fast moving medium, and it is rare to spot a power packed performance in a daily soap.
However, Roop Durgapal managed to capture the small screen with her outstanding performance in Colors’ Balika Vadhu as Sanchi a couple of days ago.
Let’s have a look at her (Sanchi’s) character graph: Firstly she fell in love with Jagya (Shashank Vyas)… went on to express it to her friends and family and to her love…her dreams came crashing down with the love of her life marrying another girl (Ganga played by Sargun Mehta)…she went on to cut her wrist to grab attention…dragged him to Court… faced hatred from one and all… but during the drunken sequence, she reached an all new level by getting drunk and insulting her ex-fiancé’s family at the time of his reception.
Everybody who watched the episode wouldn’t disagree that it was gripping and the person holding this scene was none other than Roop herself.
Hence we at Tellychakkar.com decided to talk to the actress to learn more about this scene.
“Such scenes require immense preparation as you are the central character at that point of time. Hence before the scene I did have a lot of discussions with our director Pradeep Yadav and as he is great at explaining, he helped me understand the sequence perfectly,” reveals the actress.
“A few friends also suggested watching few Hindi movies where the female leads have got drunk but I dropped the idea as I wanted Sanchi’s reaction and not that of any other actress,” she adds.
Talking about her journey in the show, she avers, “I have been very lucky as I have got the opportunity to perform on some very challenging scenes which are rare on TV. My character has grown from being Shiv’s (Siddharth Shukla) younger sister to being a lover who is now feeling deceived not just by her ex-lover but also by her own family. And I am very happy with my graph.”
Well done, Roop!!!
