Shilpa Agnihotri, who was last seen in Imagine’s Pati, Patni aur Woh, with husband Apurva, would now be seen in a daily soap after a long time. Apparently, she would be playing a crucial role in Sunjoy Waddhwa’s Jyoti. The actress would play a guiding star for the leading lady in the show.
“I play a character of Ritu, who is a divorced lady, abandoned by her husband. She belongs to a middle class background,” confirms Shilpa. She elaborates, “She is an independent woman with a 4 year old kid, who works to make her living. Her child needs to get admitted in the school and that’s where she comes in contact with Jyoti.”
But what’s purpose of her entry in the show? “Ritu has purely entered the show to inspire Jyoti. As we know, Jyoti is pregnant. Hence, she is like a guide to Jyoti to be independent and confident in her present situations,” exclaims Shilpa. The actress confirms her role is just a cameo.
Jyoti is a heartwarming story of a middle-class girl, who believes in compromising and sacrificing her own dreams for her family.
