MUMBAI : Sajjad Delafrooz is known for playing the main antagonist in Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai. The actor impressed one and all with his performance in the film. Recently, he was seen in Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F starrer Freddy. Sajjad plays a pivotal role in the movie, and he is getting a good response for it.

What response are you getting for your performance in Freddy?

I am overwhelmed by the response. I am surprised because, to be honest, I didn’t expect it. Also, it is great to be noticed in any film. I do work without any expectation, so when you get a good response it’s surprising.

Some people are not being able to recognize you in Freddy as you have such a different look. What do you have to say about that?

For me, the character I am doing has to be different from the characters I have done before. I try to add from my side in the character like the way he walks, the body language, and the look. I have heard from many people that they had difficulty recognizing me. But, that’s a good thing because I don’t want to portray myself; I want to portray the character. I have always tried to be honest and give 100 percent to the character.

How was your experience of working with Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F?

Kartik is very down-to-earth and a very humble person and Alaya is a sweetheart. Also, for me, it was interesting to see Kartik in such a role. It’s challenging to jump from comedy to such a dark role.
