MUMBAI : Vicky Donor, Shubh Mangal Savadhan, Bala, AndhaDhun, Dream Girl, and Dum Laga Ke Haisha are just a few of the distinctive, content-driven comedies that Ayushmann Khurrana has developed a reputation for selecting over the years. Ayushmann is currently getting ready for his 2024 debut with the Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions. After Dream Girl 2, his next project will be produced by Guneet Monga and Karan Johar.

Aakash Kaushik is directing the untitled movie, which is anticipated to be a distinctive spy comedy. Sources familiar with the project informed the popular news portal, an entertainment outlet, “Karan and Guneet have been very excited about this subject as the script has shaped up well with a perfect blend of espionage elements with comedy. The script tick marks all the boxes of a commercial film as it has scale, thrill, and action with a lot of comedy, and the trio of Karan, Guneet, and Aakash feel that Ayushmann Khurrana fits the character to the T.”

This film promises to redefine the spy genre within Hindi cinema and will stand out as a quintessential Ayushmann Khurrana film. “The film goes on floors in a couple of months and the official announcement with title is around the corner. The makers are in advanced stages of discussion with Sara Ali Khan to play the female lead,” added the source.

Famous for his humorous writing, Aakash Kaushik is about to take on the role of director with this spy comedy. With production expected to start in June 2024, preparations for the shoot are in full swing. Sikhya Entertainment and Dharma Productions collaborated on the film.

Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in the follow-up to his 2019 smash hit Dream Girl, Dream Girl 2. Raaj Shaandilyaa is the director, and Ayushmann Khurrana played two roles in it. The female protagonists Ananya Pandey, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, and others made up the rest of the cast. Under the name Balaji Motion Pictures, Ekta and Shobha Kapoor are the producers. The movie was released on August 25, 2023.
