MUMBAI: Vegan diets are on a roll! They are gaining immense popularity with an increasing number of Bollywood celebrities giving up meat for a plant-based diet. But adopting a vegan lifestyle isn’t restricted to food alone. Choosing clothing, household products, cosmetics, and skincare products play a vital role.
We have seen Akshay Kumar sending out a social message pan India on the importance of sanitation. And while the smaller towns and villages are probably responding positively to the film, Padman, citizens from the middle and upper economic are moving towards a complete vegan lifestyle.
There are a lot of Bollywood actors who support PETA India and have chosen to a vegetarian living. Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, the pretty looking Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt and many others have chosen a vegetarian diet.
And now looks like the time that the initiative is taken ahead as Manohar Kamath, Head at Myntra Fashion Brands, has introduced organic jeans to the brand's collection. He also has a suggestion for everyone:
Use 100 percent organic cotton jeans, recycled poly jeans where each pair uses between 9-21 bottles worth of plastic for production and reduced water jeans where each pair saves on 36 litres of water.
