Make-up tricks by Krystle Dsouza to ace that classic gold jewellery look

MUMBAI: When you dress well, you exude confidence and even strangers pick up on this. People who have a good dressing sense make it seem like they have their act together. Imagine that you’re lost in a foreign city. Whom would you rather get directions from: a sharp-dressed man or a sloppy one in ill-fitting clothes?

It is not just clothes that make you look presentable; a good hairdo, makeup, and accessories also add an edge to your personality.

Trends in fashion are constantly changing, but gold jewellery is and will remain a classic. When most people think about an all-gold look, they typically imagine a seemingly heavy yellow gold appearance, but gold comes in many hues that can be appropriately styled for different occasions.

Krystle Dsouza gives us some make-up tricks to pull off all-gold look. She says, “I would recommend subtle bronze makeup or a nude palate with a sparkle of gold on the eye lids. If you are wearing gold on a black dress, a pop of red would do wonders to your look.”

Venkatesh S., Lead Designer at BlueStone.com, gets together with Arzoo Shah, make-up expert at MyGlamm, to list a few tips on how to select the perfect jewellery pieces to compliment your make-up.

Hues of gold: When wearing yellow gold jewellery, be sure to opt for an overall bold look. Go with dark eyes and daring red lips. Go easy on the bronzer though, as you would not want it to clash with the gold jewellery.

Heavy or dainty jewellery: The first rule while compiling a look is to ensure that the focus remains on one aspect of your attire. If you are wearing a heavy neckpiece and elaborate earrings, ensure that the makeup is subtle so the attention is on your beautiful jewels. When wearing dainty earrings, stackable rings, or layered necklaces, one can go with a bold approach in makeup. Apply heavy eye makeup and complementary eye-catching colours on the lips.

Dewy make-up: Think dewy fresh skin, flushed cheeks, and pink lips—this look is an all-time favourite of makeup lovers and should be complemented by equally fabulous jewellery. Opt for a delicate gold chain or neckpiece studded with coloured gemstones that will match the shine on your dewy skin.

Use an eyeshadow palette to add a pop of colour to your look. Highlight the inner corner of the eyes using the highlighter from the palette.
