Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan are still not friends

While a lot has been written and said about the great patch-up between Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), it now emerges that both still maintain a strictly professional relationship and are not yet friends in the real sense. The relationship between the two superstars had soured when SRK's Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar clashed at the box-office. The former ended up receiving maximum screens which irked Ajay. Ajay had reportedly blamed SRK too for the entire fiasco and was even quoted saying that there's no equation between him and SRK. However, Ajay sought to clarify the air surrounding him and SRK once and for all today. When we asked him about his renewed equation with SRK as compared to his earlier statement, Ajay said, "I never said there is no equation between me and SRK. All I said was there is no friendship between us and I still maintain the same. But that doesn't mean that he is my enemy. We are colleagues. I respect him for his work and I hope he respects me for the same. We don't interfere in each other's lives." Talking about the fight which ensued two years back during the release of their movies, Ajay said, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan had no involvement of SRK. It was an issue between Ajay Devgn Films and YRF. And that issue too was about either of us trying to protect each other’s product. So it was not a question of who's right or wrong. After the release of the movie the issue was over. So there was no involvement of SRK." Talking about his decision to release Happy New Year's trailer along with Singham Returns, Ajay said, "We are colleagues. Because we don't sit and drink together like friends doesn't mean that you won't help one another. We will go all out and support each other." Ajay also expressed his surprise at talks of the patch-up between him and SRK doing the rounds. "When there was never any enmity between me and SRK, where is the question of any patch-up. Neither of us said anything against each other. So there was no issue at all." Well, we hope someday colleagues Ajay and SRK will turn friends.
