Snoop Dogg talks theatre debut with 'Redemption of a Dogg'

Rapper Snoop Dogg is making his debut in theatre with Redemption of a Dogg. 

Dogg told tmz.com about his new stage production Redemption of a Dogg in which he stars alongside Tamar Braxton. 

He says the play is all about his life and struggles, covering his rise to fame, his mis-steps and most importantly, his redemption. 

Asked if he is planning to take Redemption of a Dogg all the way to Broadway, Dogg hinted that he may do it. 

‘98 Degrees' Timmons, wrestler 'Mr Pec-Tacular' in music video 

98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons has collaborated with Jessie "Mr. Pec-Tacular" Godderz, a professional wrestler who also competed on two seasons of Big Brother for a pop song called "The girl is with me". 

They have also created a video that co-stars Morgan Willett, a Big Brother winner and TV host. 

"We met on LinkedIn. And we were going to work on something together, but it didn't work out. But we became friends," Godderz told a leading publication. 

Timmons said with a laugh, "What Jessie is too kind to tell you is that I asked him to work on something and he turned me down."

"I asked him if he wanted to work on (Timmons' male revue reality show) Men of the Strip. And he was like, ‘Absolutely not. It's not a good look for me'."

"So I asked if he could sing and he was like, ‘I'm not a singer'," continued Timmons.

"But I said, ‘Hey, let's give it a shot'." 

Godderz, who had never sung publicly before, was hesitant to get into the studio.

"Jeff helped coach me through it. He was fantastic to work with," he said.

Keira Knightley suffered mental breakdown at 22

Actress Keira Knightley has revealed that she got diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after having a mental breakdown at the age of 22.

On The Hollywood Reporter's podcast, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, who started working at the age of six, spoke about how her quick rise to stardom and the hectic working life affected her mental health, reports suggest so.

She said, "It's amazing looking back at it from the outside - you're like, Whoa, that was hit after hit after hit! But, from the inside, all you're hearing is the criticism, really. And, also, I was aware that I didn't know what I was doing, you know? I didn't know my trade, I didn't know my craft.

"I knew that there was something that worked sometimes, but I didn't know how to capture that.

Knightley was 20 when she was nominated for a BAFTA for Atonement, but says she could "only hear the negative stuff".

 "I did have a mental breakdown at 22, so I did take a year off there and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder because of all of that stuff," she added.

Her downfall came shortly after she filmed 2008's The Duchess and it weighed on her so heavily that she couldn't face red carpets when 2007's Atonement was being recognised for awards.

As a result, she went into "deep therapy" to get her through the awards season.

Knightley said, "I actually did hypnotherapy so that I could stand on the red carpet at the BAFTAs and not have a panic attack."

Oscar winner Will Vinton dead at 70

Oscar-winning animator Will Vinton has died at the age of 70 after battling with multiple myeloma for 12 years.

Vinton died on Thursday. The news was announced by his children Bildren, Jesse, and Alex in a Facebook post, reports suggest so.

Having worked in more than hundred films, Vinton won an Oscar for 1975 short animated film Closed Mondays, and also had received nominations for short films like Rip Van Winkle, The Great Cognito and The Creation.

The mustachioed animator was also a founder of Will Vinton Studios, for which he hired new creators to expand the studio.

His studio created numerous iconic Claymation characters for advertisements, especially the California Raisins, which gained notoriety for the art of Claymation.

Vinton is survived by his wife, daughter, and two sons, and the prayer meet in his beloved memory will take place on 21 October.

Ben Affleck checks out of rehab

Hollywood star Ben Affleck has checked out of rehab after voluntarily checking himself in for treatment in late August.

"This week I completed a forty day stay at a treatment centre for alcohol addiction and remain in outpatient care," Affleck said in an Instagram post Thursday, reports suggest so. 

After Affleck relapsed in his struggle with alcohol addiction, the rehab stint was brought on by an intervention by Affleck's former wife Jennifer Garner, according to media reports. 

Now in recovery, Affleck says the work is never over.

"Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment," he wrote on Instagram.

Despite having divorced over three years ago, Garner and the pair's three children were photographed at Affleck's side as he left the facility Thursday.

"The support I have received from my family and colleagues means more to me than I can say," Affleck wrote.

"It's given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others."

He ended the post on a note of gratitude and hope for the future.

"It helps to know I am not alone. As I've had to remind myself, if you have a problem, getting help is a sign of courage, not weakness or failure... I hope down the road I can offer an example to others who are struggling."

Ryan Gosling's daughters think he's an astronaut 

Actor Ryan Gosling's daughters think his day job is out of this world and that he works on the moon.

Gosling's children with Eva Mendes -- Amada Lee, two, and Esmeralda Amada, four -- got a wrong idea when they saw Gosling, 37, filming his new movie First Man as Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, reports suggest so.

"They came to set," the Blade Runner 2049 actor recalled on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. 

"They came on this day where I was shooting a launch scene, so I was in the spacesuit and pretending to launch. I think they think I'm an astronaut now. My oldest said the other day - she pointed to the moon - she was like, 'That's where you work, right?'" 

In September, Mendes told Entertainment Tonight about her daughters' misunderstanding.

"They loved it, and they now think Poppy (father) is an astronaut. We haven't corrected them yet," Mendes said. 

Nicolas Cage had drinking coach

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage hired a "drinking coach" to observe for his role as an alcoholic writer in Leaving Las Vegas.

Cage told GQ magazine, "My cousin, Roman Coppola, said, 'You should go, hire Tony Dingman' - who was at that time, very drunk and also a poet - 'Hire him to be your drinking coach.'

"So I had him on the set with me all the time, the poor guy, curled up in a foetal position in my trailer while I played bongos, I was trying to get some rhythm for the character.

"But I would watch him and he'd say the most poetic things, like, 'You do not kick the bar, you lean into the bar because it's not 'Vino Veritas, it's In Vino Veritas', he'd just spout all these things out and I put them in the movie."

Cage, who won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for his performance, said there were some scenes he shot while "completely hammered" because he wanted to be as "credible" as possible, reports suggest so.

He said, "It was a four-week shoot - thank God it was an only four-week shoot - because there were a few scenes where I wanted to be hammered. Because I wanted to be out of control and have them photograph that so I could reach that credibility, that authenticity.

"The scene that comes to mind is the casino scene, where I flipped the table and had a blackout because I didn't know I was going to go there, I just wanted something extraordinary to happen and they kept it in the movie."

Chris Evans wraps up playing 'Captain America' 

Actor Chris Evans was emotional as he hung up his shield as Captain America, a role he has played for nearly a decade.

Evans made the announcement on Thursday via Twitter, as per media reports. 
"Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honour," Evans tweeted. 

"To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful," he added. 

The actor previously pointed out to retiring the character in a profile in the The New York Times which quoted him as saying, "You want to get off the train before they push you off."

The 37-year-old Evans -- who played Johnny Storm in a couple of Fantastic Four films -- first played Steve Rogers aka Captain America in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.

He then played the character in The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), as well as cameos in a number of other Marvel films. 

Evans makes his final appearance as Captain America in the currently untitled Avengers 4. 

While his Captain America had a relatively small amount of screentime in this year's Avengers: Infinity War, the writers of that movie and Avengers 4 have said the hero will be the front and center in the next installment, as per media reports. 

Kate Hudson names her third child Rani 

Actress Kate Hudson has welcomed her third child, a daughter whom she has named Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa. 

The 39-year-old Almost Famous actress shared the news on Wednesday that her little girl was born the day before. Hudson and her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, 32, decided the name Rani for the newborn mutually, reports suggest so.


"We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honour," Hudson wrote on Instagram.

Hudson's three children have three different fathers. She shares 14-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, and Bingham, seven, with former fiance and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.

Sophia Hutchins says bond with Caitlyn Jenner 'not romantic'

Transgender model Sophia Hutchins says she "wouldn't describe" her relationship with reality TV personality Caitlyn Jenner as "romantic".

During an interview for "The Hidden Truth", the 22-year-old Pepperdine University graduate addressed the nature of her relationship with Jenner, 68, whom she lives with, reports suggest so.

Hutchins says they simply "share a life together."

"I wouldn't describe it as a romantic relationship," said Hutchins, who works as the Executive Director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation.

"I would describe our relationship as we're partners, we're business partners. We have so much in common; we see the world so similarly and we both are such a good match for each other because we challenge each other. She challenges me in so many ways, has allowed me to grow in so many ways and I hope I challenge her to grow and I think because we share so many of the same passions and views, it's just a great match, a great partnership," she added. 

Hutchins said although the women who met a few years ago via their make-up artist and hairstylist, now live together and there is no need to fixate on the status of their relationship and the demands of a label. 

She also corrected the host when he asked if she had ever "dated" another transgender person before. 

"I would not say we're dating. I would back up, I would say we are partners. I would not use the word ‘girlfriend', I would not use the word ‘dating.' We're partners," said Hutchins.
