After creating its mark with blockbuster Marathi flim ‘Lai Bhari’ under the banner of Cinemantra, ShaliniThackeray’s Cinemantra Production hasco-produced ‘Love Sonia’. Also, with this movie Samraaj Talkies enters the bandwagon of international films.The film showcases the dark reality of human trafficking and a desperate need to resolve the widely spread brutal problem. The film is presented by TabrezNoorani’sTamasha Talkies and Samraaj Talkies in association with India Take One Productions, Cinemantra& Dynasty Consulting Group. It is produced by ‘Life of Pie’ producer David Womark and Tabrez Noorani. It has an ensemble cast comprising of Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Sai Tamhankar, Adil Hussain, Anupam Kher, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass, Freida Pinto and newcomer Mrunal Thakur.
Talking about the film, producer of first-ever Marathi blockbuster – ‘Lai Bhari’ and now the executive producer of ‘Love Sonia’, Mrs.ShaliniJitendra Thackeray said, “ ‘Love Sonia’ is a global film with its roots in India. The movie deals with one of the biggest problem today – modern slavery and human trafficking. Every day, a large number of boys and girls get trapped in this illicit business. The topic of human trafficking is handled in such a poignant manner through this film.”

Since we strong believe in the film’s subject and would like to create sensitivity about the dark reality of human trafficking across the country we have initiated the responsibility of the film’s distribution rights, marketing and its overall promotion,” added Mrs. Thackeray.
Mrs Thackeray informs, “In its first phase the film ‘Love Sonia’ will be released in more than 350 movie theatres and multiplexes.”
Revealing some disturbing facts about the human trafficking in the state Maharashtra, Mrs.Shalini Thackeray informs, “Right to Information Act reveals that in the past 17 months around 32,762 girls have gone missing from Maharashtra alone.An average of 2000 girls and womengoes missing on monthly basis. On an average 65 women and girls go missing on daily basis across the state. Even children from the poor strata of the society are sold off by their own families for some meagre amount. We are proud to be associated with such a sensitive and bold subject which reveals the dark secrets of this heinous crime.
