MUMBAI: Here’s some good news for the fans and admirers of Shah Rukh Khan! The Bollywood star is geared up for a new project.  

Shah Rukh has a couple of projects in his kitty. He has donned the producer's hat for Balda starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu.  He is also helming a Netflix web-series called Bard of Blood starring Emraan Hashmi.   

Now, according to media reports, Shah Rukh is geared up for another project for the OTT platform. Backed by his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, it is a film based on the class of 83. Reports further stated that the plot centres on a team of sharpshooters and encounter specialists that was trained by the Mumbai cops to handle terrorism and the underworld in 1983. Filmmaker Atul Sabharwal might direct the film.

A source associated with the film’s unit, said to media, “From what we have heard, it is not going to be a web series but a film made exclusively for Netflix Originals. It is going to be mounted like a period drama from 1983 with multiple references to happenings around that era. This was also the time when Vasantdada Patil was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the character will be part of the plot.”

“There will be a reference to the ’83 world cup as well during one of the sequences," added the source.
