The 28-year-old singer and rapper was brutally shot dead and succumbed to multiple bullet wounds. He was paid homage by many of his colleagues from the Punjabi Music Industry and his fans pan-India. He was killed in the Mansa district.
Many arrests have been made during the investigations in his murder case and now the police has nabbed five people including a woman for allegedly helping a nephew of Lawrence Bishnoi for procuring a fake passports.
The accused helped Sachin Thapan and other gangsters to procure fake passports. Thapan, who happens to be a nephew of Lawrence, was allegedly involved in his murder conspiracy and later had fled the country.
Anmol Bishnoi and Sachin Thapan have plotted the singer’s murder and hired shooters, gave them equipment and soon fled the country using fake passports, according to the police. The accused have been identified as Rahul Sarkar, 27, a 27-year old woman, Navneet Prajapati, 33, Somnath Prajapati, 33, and Arjit Kumar, 55.
The police had received a tip on the 4th of July regarding the movement of Sarkar who happened to be in contact with Bishnoi’s gang and a trap was laid to nab him. The police waited near Saket Metro Station foot-over-bridge and caught him as he tried to flee. The driver, Sarkar was overtaken and apprehended as said by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker.
At his instance, all the others among the five were apprehended. In the interrogation, Sarkar revealed that he was in touch with the criminals and especially Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang members. He helped Thapan to procure a fake passport with forged documents, made in the name of a Sangam Vihar resident, Tilak Raj Toteja, as revealed by the police.
