The young brigade is entering the world of entertainment to carve its own niche. Not everyone can survive the casting industry. Small-town boys Shivam Chhabra and Garry Gill have casted for more than 150 shows in 2 years.
Shivam, 25, hails from Kullu Manali, while the 22-year-old Garry belongs to Jalandhar, Punjab.
The two have worked as freelancers for a long time and are planning to kick-start their own venture called Garry Casting Company.
While talking to TellyChakkar, Chhabra said, ‘My idea of casting is to find the perfect match of the character that brings justice to the script.’
When asked why they are interested in casting, he says, ‘I love what I do. I get to know so many people with different talents but at the same time, it’s a task. It takes a lot of time and effort. Sometimes we don’t have the time for proper sleep and food.’
Garry, who is launching his own company, explains why this agency is different from the ones that already exist. ‘While other casting directors give chances to people who are already from the industry, I will try to give chances to fresh faces most of the time. Recently, we did casting for the lead and parallel lead for three shows. All the lead boys and girls are freshers.’
So where does Shivam see himself in the future? ‘By God’s grace and my hard work, I wish to see myself having my own production house.’
We wish the duo loads of luck.
