Acclaimed writer turned producer, Raakesh Paswan has been heralded as one of the few writers in the TV industry to have depicted the socio-economic and cultural face of Bihar and Jharkhand via his serials Bhagyavidhata, Afsar Bitiya and Service Waali Bahu.
The aspirations and unending journey from being a successful writer saw an extension to his dream when he came up with his production house, Village Boy Productions. After coming up with shows like Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo, Afsar Bitiya, Ek Ghar Banaunga, Service Wali Bahu, Raakesh Paswan has now successfully launched an exciting and challenging mythological costume drama serial, Draupadi for DD Kisan.
According to Paswan, “Doing Draupadi has been a big challenge, yet exciting. The character/personality of Draupadi has always fascinated me and I cannot find any comparison to Draupadi’s character, which is so strong in terms of value.”
As we know, actress Mitaali Nag who was seen in Paswan’s Afsar Bitiya is playing the title role of Draupadi.
Mitaali on her new role spoke saying, “I am feeling great and at home, as after Afsar Bitiya, I was busy with a movie with Raakeshji. Now I essay the role of Draupadi. I wanted to do a character which is more powerful than what I did in Afsar Bitiya. When I got a call from Raakeshji for Draupadi’s role, I was more than thrilled.”
The story of Draupadi from Mahabharat is the story of this woman who is married to five brothers.
The serial is about women empowerment and will depict her journey filled with sacrifice, struggle for self-dignity after being wedded to five husbands, and her love from Krishn, her mentor.
