I am lucky to live my dream every day: Khushwant Walia

Khushwant Walia

Khushwant Walia is back with a bang!  As superstar Kabir on Life OK’s Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali, the actor is more than happy to work with Rajshri Productions again.

In a quick chat with Tellychakkar.com, Khushwant talked about his comeback and all things on TV...take a look:

Excerpts:

The wait is finally over!

It has been a long wait definitely, but I am now raring to go, having  bagged such an interesting role. I think for actors, patience is the biggest virtue. I trust the teaching that perseverance definitely reaps results (smiles). After Pyaar Ka Dard, I just didn’t want to take up anything for the sake of it. There is a certain amount of expectation from everyone and I wanted to stand up to it with my next role.

Back to my own family, Rajshri Productions...

I think an actor can be happy only if the production house is supportive. Having started my career with Rajshri Productions, which treats its actors so lovingly, I hoped to find someone similar in the next show. And by god’s grace, I have the same family backing me in my next show. I know so many people on the team, and the love remains the same between us. Also with Sonali (Naik) and Alefia (Kapadia) also in the show, it’s going to be party!

Playing an actor comes naturally to me

Playing an actor onscreen is definitely the best thing one would want. All of us are so attuned to the personality and challenges that it comes out easily on screen. If they are getting to play a role that is so similar to them, there are no extra efforts involved!

Acting is definitely my first love

Having started my career as a cabin crew, I knew I would eventually go the entertainment route. Since childhood, I have dreamed of seeing myself on the big screen. I tried my hands at cricket too, playing for BCL, but this is what I want to do and I feel lucky to have managed to realise my dreams.

I am thankful to my audience for their love

They say 'out of sight, out of mind', but the audience has been so supportive. They have constantly been in touch with me through social networking sites and showered their love on me. I will always be grateful to them.
