The pretty Hiba Nawab, who shot to fame with Tere Sheher Mein, is making her comeback with Mumtaz Saba Productions’ Meri Saasu Maa on Zee TV.
At the recently held press meet of the show, Hiba surprised us with her new look of Pari.
The actress looked happy about the new project and spoke to us about her role and show. Excerpts from the press conference:
Hiba, the bespectacled-look is suiting you, but how comfortable are you wearing those?
I don’t have specs in real life so I am not used to it. The vision is also not that clear. It’s been a month of wearing these and I am trying to get comfy.
Tell us little bit about your character...
I am playing Pari, a geek who loves reading books. As she likes to spy, she is more into suspense books. Pari wishes to become a teacher and open her own school one day. As her mother died when Pari was young, she wants her mother-in-law to smother her with all the love in the world.
Usually actors chill for a while and then take up a new show but you immediately returned to TV, why?
After sitting at home for 15 days I got bored and restless. Strange, but I also started losing weight. I had thought that I would take a long gap but I immediately got offers for this show, which I couldn’t refuse.
How’s your rapport with your co-star Pearl V Puri?
We have hardly shot together but he is a very kind guy. He is well-mannered and a thorough gentleman.
We have seen you in modern look and now you have donned a simple avatar, which look you do like the most?
Simple look is very relaxing. To be honest, the modern look was little uncomfortable.
These days, mostly all the TV soaps are having ghost, naagin and dayan drama in them, what if you have to go though the same in Mari Saasu Maa?
Well, I don’t believe in quitting shows. If my creative thinks that these particular tracks will work then I don’t mind doing it. As an actor if you get anything interesting to play onscreen then there shouldn’t be any problem.
Which show are you enjoying on TV now?
I like watching Naagin. The lead of the show Mouni Roy is very pretty. In fact, I watch the show only for her.
Your take on reality shows?
I haven’t thought about reality shows as I haven’t participated or been offered a show yet.
How comfortable are you kissing onscreen?
I am not comfortable at all. In the future, I will think about it but at this point of time it’s a big no-no.
What kind of mother-in-law do you wish to have in real life?
I am scared of my would-be mother-in-law. The word marriage itself worries me. I always wonder if I will manage to adjust with my new family.
On the personal front, how do you unwind yourself?
I love partying and in my free time, I dance.
