The soft spoken, humble Pearl V Puri is slowly climbing the ladder of success with the quiet fire of a man ready to embrace fame.
The charming boy will be soon seen in Zee TV’s upcoming daily Meri Saasu Maa with Tere Sheher Mein actress Hiba Nawab.
One thing that we would like to mention about Pearl is that he is a very hardworking, ambitious and grounded kind of a person.
We met the gentleman at the recent press meet, looking handsome in his new traditional avatar. He spoke about his role, show, music and more.
Pearl, you became famous from your first show Badtameez Dil as Abeer and now you are seen in a very different avatar as Sattu. What made you to take up this show?
I had to prepare myself mentally to take up this show. My character of Sattu is lovable and very emotional. He is very religious and highly believes in God. My look is very different from my earlier show. I like taking up challenges, hence this project attracted me.
Of late, we have seen you active on social platforms, tell us about that?
I believe if someone removes time for you regularly, then it’s my responsibility also to give them importance. Hence, these days I have been wishing all of my fans on their birthday via video. I record video everyday during my breaks.
What is the back story behind your name Pearl?
Well, frankly speaking my name Pearl is given by my mom as she loved that name. She always thought that she would name her kid Pearl and even I really find it uncommon.
You enjoy working with Asmita Sood or Hiba Nawab?
With Hiba I have just started working but she is a very nice girl. I am blessed to have a good cast. Badtameez Dil had a family like cast and this show’s cast is also very supportive.
Did you always wish to become an actor?
Yes, I always wished to become an actor. After my 12th I started my journey with the entertainment industry. After sometime my family stopped supporting me, so I left my hometown Agra and came to Mumbai. Like all actors even I have had my share of pain and struggle. Initially I used to spend money lavishly and now I realize the value of it.
Any aspiration to enter Bollywood?
Yes, I do wish to enter Bollywood someday but everything has its own time.
Do you believe in the institution of marriage?
Yes, I do believe but I am very scared of marriage. I am scared of marriage in the same way as people get scared of ghosts even when they have not seen them. When I think I am capable enough to take care of my wife I will get married.
You have been in news dating your previous show co-star Asmita, so is it true or false?
We are good friends and are very much single.
Any passion other than acting?
I love music and I have been singing and composing music since my childhood. If someone happens to see my room anytime they will spot a lot of speakers as I enjoy listening to all types of music from the western to classical to Romanian to Spanish.
Keep up the good work Pearl!
