How is it working with little Ruhana Khanna?

I work with a wonderful cast around me. I think half the story is completed when the casting is done properly. Everybody here is very calm, humble, hardworking and sweet. Ruhana is an amazing kid. She is very talented and intelligent.

Do TRPs matter to you?

Everybody wants their show to work and be a hit. TRP matters for the channel and the show.  If TRP is good then the show is good. People might love the show, but sometimes, because of bad TRP the makers terminate the serial.

Do you think TV is different from what it used to be?

Yes, TV has changed a lot. More real concept, good stories have evolved over the years. Apart from normal soaps, there are reality shows, stories that deal with social issues and so on. It’s a good move that’s liked by the viewers as well.

How important is education for a child?

I think education is a basic right for each and every child. A child needs education for his better development and growth. If they avoid education they have to suffer and work as a labour. So I think education should be given primary importance.

Do you think your show has made an impact on the society?

Our show Gangaa is just the first step. I think a person alone can’t bring changes in the society, he needs to have a strong support of the entire nation with him.

How do you manage to spend time with your family and kids?

The working schedule here is flexible and organized, so I get time to spend with my family. I take them on holidays and picnic. Gauri does the planning and I just execute it!

What is your dream role?

I want to do a role which inspires others. I don’t want to copy anybody. I can’t describe the type of role but whatever I do, it should set an example for others.

Despite being a part of the industry for a while, you continue to receive great offers. What’s your secret?

I think everybody has faith in me and if they feel that I am the perfect choice for the role, they select me. Now I have done a lot of shows so makers know what kind of character will suit my personality. My talent is the perfect icing on the cake!

Given a chance, would you like to work with your wife Gauri again?

Oh yes, why not? We know each other and share a great bond. It would be lovely working with Gauri but would like to do something different. The story should be unique and challenging.
