The pretty and petite Aneri Vajani garnered a huge fan following with her portrayal of Nisha in the daily Nisha Aur Uske Cousins.
The actress is back with a bang with Sony TV’s Beyhadh and she is already been loved for her character of Saanj.
Tellychakkar spoke to Aneri on Beyhadh, her rapport with her co-stars and more. Read on...
Are you breaking your tomboyish image with Beyhadh?
My character of Saanjh in Beyhadh is totally different from the rebellious role of Nisha that I had played in Nisha Aur Uske Cousins. I am glad that I am playing a role which is different from my earlier portrayals. I am enjoying shooting. People will enjoy watching my transition from a cute girl to a serious one.
Which person you like and dislike Beyhadh (too much)?
I like my grandfather and dislike no one.
Do you think your character may get sidelined in the show?
All the three character are equally important in the show. Everyone has been given equal footage.
How is your rapport with your co-stars?
Kushal and I are crazy when we are together. Kushal is a very caring and protective co-actor. Recently, we had gone to Indore for promotions and people were pushing us but Kushal protected us with care. Talking about Jennifer, she treats me like a sister.
What was your reaction when you got to know that Jennifer and Kushal will be your co-actors?
Initially, I thought Kushal will have a lot of attitude problem but the moment I met him I realised how sweet he is.
Kushal works out a lot, do you take fitness tips from him?
Yes, he himself gives me lots of tips. As we shoot for many hours, he would ask me if I had my meal on time and what did I have. So as I mentioned earlier, he is a very caring co-star.
What kind of a lover are you?
I am a passionate lover.
Have you watched Jennifer’s earlier shows?
Yes, as a kid I have watched Jennifer’s Shakalaka Boom Boom, Dil Mill Gayye and thelast one was Saraswatichandra. And I think she is a superb actress.
Have you ever witnessed any obsessive lover who has been madly in love with you?
(After a long pause) No, I am just 23 but I want someone who would go crazy about me.
What are your aspirations as an actor?
I want to play all sorts of challenging roles from deaf and dumb to a psychopath.
If you were approached to play Maya’s (Jennifer) or Saanj’s character, which one would you have chosen?
Good question, I would still have chosen Saanj’s character as my earlier role of Nisha has little resemblance to Maya’s character. So I am happy playing Saanj.
Are you one of those actors who had to stand in long queue for auditions to bag a show?
Luckily no, this was my first condition to myself before becoming an actor that I don’t want struggle. By God's grace, I haven’t struggled and I hope I don’t face it in future.
Good luck, Aneri!
