Rachna Parulkar, who will now be seen enthralling the audience in a fresh avatar as Maharana Pratap’s wife in Sony TV’s Maharana Pratap, is extremely excited on bagging the show post her stint in Zee TV’s Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. We speak to the smart, beautiful and charismatic woman on investment matters as she prepares herself for her new endeavor. How important is money to you? Money is very important to me. It is important for survival. Are you an impulsive buyer? No. If I like something, I will buy it even if it is expensive. But I cannot spend recklessly. What are the investments that you have made? My father takes care of my investments. What has been your most expensive purchase? I cannot recollect the most expensive but I shopped for Rs 40,000 this month. Do you feel financially secure? Yes. Absolutely. Who handles your expenses? As I mentioned earlier, my father handles all my expenses. What was your first salary? My first salary was Rs. 1,500 which my Guru gave me for my Kathak stage performance. How much money do you carry every day? Even if I am going at a 10 minute distance away from home, I carry Rs. 1,000 liquid cash with me. Of course, plastic money is always there but having some money handy is very important. Your advice to new investors? Save money. It’s your right to pamper yourself if you earn about it is important to make smart investments for yourself.
