An actor needs to be shameless, says Sandeep Anand

MUMBAI: Actor Sandeep Anand is quite pro when it comes to essaying his characters on screen; however, the actor reveals that he is actually shy in his personal life, but forgets all his inhibitions when he is in front of the camera.

"I am very shy of clicking pictures with fans also. I don’t take many selfies as I get conscious. But when I am in front of the camera, I just think of the character which I am portraying and the fact that so many people are watching me doesn't bother me anymore. The first thing I learnt from acting is that an actor needs to be shameless when he performs," he says.

In fact, Sandeep has undergone makeover physically. His recent photo shoot is a testimony to this. The actor looks far leaner and mature in the pictures.

“I am a big-time foodie and I am super lazy. I recently felt that I needed to change things, and the physical transformations as well as the pictures are a result of that,” he says, adding, “When I see the mature me now, I miss my old look. But I guess this one has more charm. Also, I have started following healthy habits and it seems that these are working for me.”

The transformation has made him more energetic.

Says Sandeep, “I have started feeling good about life and I have started giving importance to every small thought in life, which I was missing out earlier.”

Talking about how he got down to getting the pictures clicked, Sandeep says, “Vishal Seth is the guy who pressured me a lot for this. I was too lazy but he motivated me. It is all thanks to him that these pictures are there today. He is perfect at photography and was very clear about what he needed from me in every photo. This made me stay on my toes.”

Sandeep also contributed to the theme of the shoot.

“I am not a model, but I am great at concept shoots. I do give a lot of suggestions and ideas that get incorporated,” he says.

The shoot was fun for Sandeep and he made an effort to get to know the entire team.

“We had a lot of fun. I took all the crew members for breakfast since we were shooting early in the morning. Getting to know each one of them was amazing,” he says.
