The lead guy Giriraj Kabra was replaced overnight by Raj Singh in Sahara One’s Piya Ka Ghar Pyaara Lage (Entertainment Hub). And now, a sudden decision on the show’s closure sometime in September (2013) has stunned the cast. In fact, the cast on board the show got to know of this development only when they got the confirmation coming from Sahara One’s Content and Programming Head, Sharad Raj in media. A surprised Leena Jumani better known as Piya in the show says, “I had no idea about the show going off-air till I actually read about it in the media.” In fact, the actress was looking forward to the soap running for at least a year from now. “I do feel bad about the show going off-air in just nine months’ time from the day I started working. I thought it would work at least for one more year.” Talking about her co-star Giriraj Kabra being replaced overnight she states, “I wouldn’t like to comment on why and how he was replaced but I would like to say that he is a very good actor. He always made me feel comfortable in every scene I shot with him.” So who is to be blamed for the show’s closure? Is it Raj Singh? “The show had a run of three years and I don’t know why it is going off-air. As far as Raj’s entry is concerned he hardly got an opportunity to act. He hasn’t even been on the show for a month, so we cannot hold him responsible for anything. In fact an actor is never responsible for a show going off-air.” What’s next for the pretty lady? “I am still shooting but once I am done with this I will take a week’s break and go to US to meet my friends. A lot of my friends are settled there.” Sad, but this is how things work in television!!!
