Actress and BJP candidate Rupa Ganguly has been caught in a controversy for allegedly creating ‘rucus’ at Shrikrishna Prathamik Vidyalaya, one of the polling booths at Salkia, Howrah.
As per media reports, the actress who rose to fame as Draupadi in Mahabharat was informed by someone that booth rigging was happening at this particular polling booth.
She reportedly stormed at the said booth and questioned the poling officers and other agents about the same, who in turn told her that nothing as such was happening there.
As per the video which is going viral on social media platforms, after she came out of the particular polling booth, she was gheraoed by Trinamool Congress workers who questioned her presence inside the polling booth. This led to an altercation between the workers of BJP and Trinamool Congress.
Also, in the video, Rupa Ganguly can be seen engaging into a bitter argument with a Trinamool Congress worker, Soma Mondal at the spot. The actress can also be seen heckling her in kind of retaliation. It has also been reported that she allegedly slapped one of the workers.
The situation turned so serious that the central forces had to step in to control it. Rupa was asked by the forces to leave the place immediately.
At the moment the situation is under control and a clarification is yet to come from Rupa Ganguly.
