Alka Kaushal roped in for Colors' upcoming mature love story, 'Swaragini'

Alka Kaushal

Actress Alka Kaushal is very popular for her commanding negative roles that she plays on TV. Recently, her vampish persona as Raziya Siddiqui in Zee TV’s Qubool Hai gained her immense popularity. She is also presently seen in Sony PAL’s Hamari Sister Didi.

Now, Alka will get into the shoes of yet another interesting character, that of the grandmother in Colors’ upcoming show, produced by Rashmi Sharma Productions. She will be the dadi saas of the female protagonist, essayed by Parineeta Borthakur (reported by us).

Well, yet another news is that the untitled show has got its title in ‘Swaragini.’

A reliable source tells us, “Alka will have a prominent role to play in the Colors show. One can clearly say that this role will be yet another feather in the cap when it comes to the variety of roles she has portrayed on the small screen.”

When contacted, Alka confirmed her presence in the show, but refused to talk further.

As we know, Swaragini will talk of an incomplete love story between a Marwari man (Shekhar) and a Bengali lady (Sharmistha) who have now moved on in life. Sachin Tyagi and Parineeta will play the lead roles, while Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar and Helly Shah will play their grown-up daughters.

The promo of the show is presently being shot, and it is expected to launch in February.
