All the outstanding dues should be cleared be before resumption of shoots - CINTAA and FWICE

CINTAA and FWICE issued a press release which mentioned that many producers are calling their members for shoots which has caused a feeling of unrest and misguidance even before the resumption of shoot.

MUMBAI: The pandemic of coronavirus led to shutdown of shoots and the entertainment fraternity was one of the major industries too get affected. It was after the lockdown that the actors who were silently resolving some non-payment issues came out in the open to ask the producers for their dues as they faced a financial crunch.  (Also Read: Cine, TV artists association condemns Tanushree Dutta's sexual harassment)

The team of Humari Bahu Silk sparked a major controversy as they were not paid their dues and infact, some even went on to say that they would have to resort to suicide if they were not paid as they were facing a financial crises. However, the producers were silent on the matter.

Now, the shoots of certain shows have commenced and some even plan to resume shooting adhering to the guidelines.

However, CINTAA and FWICE have issued a notice that there is still an uncertainty looming as grievances on the working conditions, payment terms and duty hours which were submitted to the Producers Association did not result in positive results from them.

They issued a press release which mentioned that many producers are calling their members for shoots which has caused a feeling of unrest and misguidance even before the resumption of shoot. It also mentioned that even after strict directives issued by the I & B Ministry to all the producers to clear the outstanding dues of actors, workers and technicians pending prior to the announcement of the lockdown, the producers haven’t done so.

 It mentioned that all the outstanding dues should be cleared be before resumption of shoots.
