Acceptance of the love relationship of Karthik (Mohsin Khan) and Naira (Shivangi Joshi) came as a breather for the loyal fans of Star Plus’ popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director’s Kut),  but the New Year will only put up new hurdles for this much-loved pair. 

As per the ongoing track, the duo has just managed to salvage the trust of their family members after all the drama that happened over the Shagun and Kundali.

Now, another big hurdle would await both Karthik and Naira. This time around, the situation will get so tricky for the lovebirds that they will end up having a misunderstanding.

So what will cause the problem? 

Well, that will be the proposed name change for Naira, post her marriage!!

Yes, as per the upcoming track, Dadi (Swati Chitnis) will want to change Naira’s name to Sumedha. This development will come as a shocker to the entire Singhania family and they will be against the idea. 

Just when Naira will long to get Karthik’s support in this situation too, Karthik will turn around and take Dadi’s side. 

As per sources, “There will be huge drama when Karthik will side Dadi before Naira and all the Singhania family members by saying that Naira will not get her say every time she would oppose Dadi.”

Will this mean that Naira will go in for the name change?
