MUMBAI: Well-known writer Rajita Sharma, who has penned shows such as Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, and Tum Dena Sath Mera, is working on a new show.
Rajita last co-produced Gangaa under her banner Magic Lantern Productions along with Sphere Origins.
Our sources inform us that Rajita is bringing in a new daily tentatively titled Patiala Babes on Sony TV. She has now changed the name of her production house to Katha Kottage.
TellyChakkar has exclusive information that Rajita has roped in Deepika Singh to play the lead role. Deepika played the much-loved and appreciated character of Sandhya in Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum.
When we contacted Rajita, she shared, ‘It is too early to comment on the project.’
We also buzzed Deepika, but she remained unavailable for comment.
Deepika was also in talks for the upcoming season of Bigg Boss. However, it seems that the actress has decided to go ahead with this fiction show and give Bigg Boss a miss.
