Exclusive! After leaving Colors, I had decided to come back with something different: Spy Bahu producer Ashvini Yardi

MUMBAI: Colors has launched a new show Spy Bahu starring Sana Sayyad and Sehban Azim in the lead roles. The story of Spy Bahu is lead-centric and depicts the love story of a detective and a terror-suspect.

Spy Bahu is bankrolled by Ashvini Yardi under her production house Viniyard Productions.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Ashvini, who spoke briefly about the show concept, on bringing Sana and Sehban on board, and more.

Spy Bahu is a very different concept, what inspired you to bring this show? “It's been 11 years that I left Colors, so I had decided to come back with something different. I created it because it just came to me and I didn't think too much about it. After I started to develop it, it seemed more and more interesting. We wanted Sejal's character to be entertaining and also inspiring. The character is very relatable and like a girl next door.”

What was your take on Kareena promoting and introducing the show? “We wanted someone to introduce the characters in a different way, and Kareena being a working mom seemed the perfect celebrity for that. And the fact that she agreed on doing it meant a lot to us, because she liked the concept of the show.”

Is Spy Bahu sort of related to Kashmir Files or does it have a similar concept? “I haven't watched the film yet, but Spy Bahu has a very different concept than the film. The show has been shot in Kashmir, but the stories are entirely different.”

How happy are you for Sana and Sehban being onboard? “I think they make a cute onscreen couple. Sana is doing a very different character unlike other characters on television. Moreover, Sehban's character has a lot of depth and layers. Both their roles are very difficult, and they've worked very hard. Shooting in Kashmir in such low temperatures was challenging as well. In addition, Shubha ji is so inspiring and enthusiastic. It's so nice to see all the actors in the show performing so well.”
