MUMBAI: Puja Dixit is a well know actress of television, and she is known for her performance in Home Stories.

Soon, she will be seen in Zee TV’s upcoming show Mithai. The actress will essay the role of the hero’s aunty.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress and asked her about how she bagged the role in her new project and whether she is open in doing any roles in web series.

How did you bag the role in your upcoming project?

I did a small audition and then bagged the role of Abha as the character is of a very sweet wife. She loves to dress at times and she speaks what she feels like and it’s a very interesting character.

What are the challenges you face while prorating such characters?

Sometimes, there are some challenges that we face while doing such roles. The role of Maria that I played in my last serial is such a contrasting character to what I am. She was negative and cunning. She was the one who was putting everyone in trouble and creating a lot of differences in everyone’s life and then she becomes a follower of Ishu (Jesus Christ). Suddenly, he shows her the right path and she becomes very positive in life. This character will always be very close to me. Though she is so different from me, the producers thought that I was perfect enough to play the role and do justice to the role.

The digital world is taking over, and there are so many opportunities that have opened up. Are you open to the idea of doing OTT?

Well, there is no doubt that these days, OTT is in great demand and I would love to do a woman-centric and strong character just like that of Vidya Balan and Sridevi as they were the hero of their films. They had so much to offer in the movie and they carried the entire film on their shoulders, which is very interesting.
