MUMBAI: Sanjay Bhatia is a known actor who has worked in television, theatre, and films.  He also does Marathi content. Sanjay Bhatia is known for some of the major projects including Alt Balaji's Apharan season 2, Scam 1992 The Harshad Mehta Story, Sacred Games season 2, Raees, and Airlift.

He is currently a part of Dangal TV’s Mann Sundar.

Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actor and got to know interesting insights.

OTT is a lot in trend these days. Do you wish to explore that for yourself? 

“I have already done a lot of web shows till now. Last year itself I did 7-8 shows. There weren’t any prominent roles as such but the characters were really good. I was happy with the roles I got. As an actor, I am also greedy. I wish to have stronger characters and more screen space.”

You have been in the industry long enough. What piece of advice do you have for the actors struggling to survive in the industry?

“First of all, if it comes to the matter of surviving for an artist, he needs to introspect whether he is meant to be in the industry or not. This is like any other skill. For example, we see a lot of lawyers outside the court but only a few are known by their names. They have reached there because they have that capability and have worked for it. So similarly, an actor has to give that much so that he is looked up to. When the actors put in more effort, they are bound to get more work. When they are not getting work, they need to introspect what is going wrong.”

Indian television does not seem to experiment much but the audience wishes to see different content. What do you have to say about that?

“We are in such a field that requires our skills and capabilities but also is driven by the liking of the people.  Their choices might change with time but if you can’t change as an actor according to the audience’s choices, then it won’t work for you. There have been many actors who did what they felt like at the time but over some time, the audience would not like it. So one cannot be stubborn and they need to adapt to new ways and patterns.”
