Actor Gavie Chahal is proud of his Punjabi roots and wishes to pass on the message of holding on to the culture and believing in its richness, especially to the youngsters living abroad.
Gavie, who has been part of a variety of Punjabi movies like Yaaran Naal Baharan, Mehendi Wale Haath, Majajan, Tere Ishq Nachayva and many more, has been chosen as the Brand Ambassador for the Ma Boli International Punjabi Film Festival (MIPFF) to be held at Vancouver this year.
Gavie who has always promoted quality Punjabi cinema both in Punjab and Bollywood looks forward to this opportunity in Vancouver wherein he will address the Punjabi youth settled outside India to know more about their roots.
Says Gavie, “It is a privilege to be the Brand Ambassador at the International Punjabi Film Festival. My main motive will be to speak about the richness of Punjab as a language. Nearly 25-30 Punjabi films from all over the globe will be premiered at the film festival.”
MIPFF 2014 will kick-start from 18 April at Vancouver. Gavie will be leaving on 16 April for the same.
Gavie awaits the release of his two Punjabi movies Yaaraana and Pyar Yaar n Panga. His Hindi movie Ghul Makai is also to be released sometime this year. On television, Gavie was last seen in Mrs. Kaushik ki Paanch Bahuein.
