She is bold, she is beautiful, she is smart- she is Neha Pendse. Mostly known for being a part of prominent Bollywood flicks, Neha is currently winning praises for her act as the bold and smart boss, Sanjana in May I Come In Madam on Life OK.
When asked about choosing the role of Sanjana, Neha replied, “The character is very interesting and something which is rarely evident on small screen. Television series mostly shows modern women as negative. Somehow, for the makers of tele series, all modern women are evil, there is nothing called grey shade. Naturally, when I was offered such a rare role, I couldn’t say no to that.”
Before the release of your show it was said that your show will be a bolder version of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Do you feel bad that it couldn’t get as much popularity as Bhabiji? Neha averred, “The opening TRP of our show was more than that of Bhabiji’s. Later on Bhabiji picked up really well. What I believe is that the family audience is a bit reluctant about watching our show thinking that it contains too much bold content. Let me tell them that my show is a clean comedy series, which can be watched with the family members.”
Don’t you think that your show will be accepted only by a certain section of the audience? “Well initially we thought that our show will appeal more to the urban population but it seems that the ratings of rural area are higher. Interestingly regressive contents are more popular among urban masses whereas creative contents are not doing well. Personally as an actor, I choose creative satisfaction over popularity.”
Well said Neha. We wish you luck.
