Seasoned actor Manish Goel is known for his power-packed performances on the small screen!! In his career spanning nearly 15 years, Manish has been appreciated for the kind of roles that he has portrayed effortlessly. From Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Bhabhi to Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni, Manish has done a stupendous job with his roles.
It’s been more than two years now, since the actor has declared that he is certainly open to doing challenging roles on TV.
In the last few years, we have seen Manish experiment with a super-hero role in Shapath, and a challenging avatar in a special episode of Adaalat.
Now, the man is all set to be seen in the launch episode of Zee TV’s Fear Files. Well, horror is one more genre that Manish will be attempting for the first time through Fear Files.
Now that he has roared back through episodics on TV, will he not want to get back to the daily soap scenario?
We quizzed Manish with the same question. And the actor expressed his desire to come back. But he spoke of few apprehensions that the industry carried when it came to approaching him for roles.
Opening up, Manish said, “See, I have been ready to take up something really good for more than two years now. I start every day with a notion that the day will yield a positive outcome and result. But what I have noticed is that many in the industry feel that I charge big money. But that’s not what the truth is.”
Clarifying further, the actor expressed, “I have never accepted a role for money, nor have I refused a role for money. All I want is a character and role that I have never done before. I want a producer or channel to come up to me and say, this has never been attempted before. Will you accept it, Manish?”
Going down the memory lane, Manish told us, “Well, there was a role that was quite close to what I wanted. There was a show being made on Sony TV, on the lines of Beauty and the Beast. The man was supposed to be the ugly looking guy and the girl was supposed to be this beautiful one who longed for her Mr. Perfect. I went through a lot of look tests, after which I was almost roped in. But ultimately the general consensus was that I did not look ugly from any angle. Hence, I did not bag the role.”
Talking about the roles that are on offer today, Manish averred, “I perhaps fall in the mid-range. I am not a 22 years old young boy, but at the same time do not appear to be the father of a young boy or girl. In fact, there have been people who have told me to grow a paunch in order to look a bit older (laughs). And I have been told that there are no stress lines on my forehead, that indicate ageing. Well, all that accounts to the manner in which I have kept my body and physique intact. Having said this, I will want to bag a role for what I am, and for not what I am not.”
Taking everything in the positive stride, the actor stated, “I believe there will come a day when I get a role that I desire and love to do. Till then, I am ready for the wait.”
Manish, we truly hope you get the best in your future!!
