This one lady named Utkarsha Naik, is ferociously talented. Known for her power packed acting, Utkarsha has secured a special place for herself in the industry.
Currently seen in Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi (Colors), Utkarsha once played titular roles in shows like Kunti, Asha and many more. Even after playing central characters, she was never scared to step aside and to give a chance to the younger generation.
As we engaged into a conversation session with the lady, we asked her about the transition in her career and Utkarsha with a gentle smile replied, “Yes, I have been through a state of transition. Initially I was doing lead roles, before my daughter’s birth. But, now I have stepped aside and have gracefully accepted the fact that it’s time for the new generation to take that place. And even after doing side roles, all of my characters hold a special importance in the dailies. I will never perform in roles just for the sake of doing it. Hence, I am much content about my work and have never regretted in my career.”
Balancing both professional and personal life is not an easy job to do for sure, but the lady is doing that with aplomb. When asked about the secret, the lady replied, “Since my husband is also an actor, I have never faced any problems from his side. But for my daughter I have to take special care of her. Moreover, in between two shows, I generally take breaks to give due time to my daughter. Now that she is in her tenth grade, I make sure that she should enjoy studying, hence, try to guide her accordingly.”
So, what differences have you witnessed in all these years? Utkarsha quipped, “I feel that making a show has become so much commercialized nowadays. Earlier it was more about producing quality ventures. I believe daily soap makes an actor out of a non-actor.”
Finally speaking about her co-stars, Utkarsha remarked, “Though all of them are really talented and brilliant, I am closest to my on screen sister Laxmi aka Pallavi Rao. After all, sisters always share some special bond (laugh).”
Well said Utkarsha!
