From the time the promos of Chandra Nandni launched, fans have been eagerly waiting to see their ‘hero’ Rajat Tokas back in action.

The Star Plus’ historical will see Rajat getting back with Ekta Kapoor to recreate the magic and success they managed to achieve with Jodha Akbar. And the fans of the show are more than eager to welcome them back. But there’s a glitch.

Loyal audience of Jodha Akbar have been asking the makers to pair Rajat with Paridhi Sharma who he romanced in the mentioned daily.

And Chandra Nandni will see him pair opposite the once child prodigy and now a gorgeous actress Shweta Basu Prasad. The actress who created a mark with films like Makdee and Iqbal will be making a comeback to TV after she was last seen in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.

At the launch of the show when we caught up with Shweta, we asked her if the comparison with Paridhi has bogged her down. Or with fans wanting to see Rajat back with Paridhi, has it somewhere created insecurity in her.

Smilingly, the national award winner said, “I think Paridhi is a wonderful actress. And I think she and Rajat did a wonderful job in Jodha Akbar. Although the comparison has already begun, it doesn’t affect me in any way. All I hope is that fans accept me with Rajat the way they did Paridhi.”

“Also I feel that the competition will make me put my best foot forward to keep the fans happy. It is kind of motivating me to work harder and bring a freshness to my pairing with Rajat. And I hope the next show that Rajat does, his heroine gets compared to me,” she added with a chuckle.

Aww...well said Shweta!!!

And we really wish you achieve great heights with Chandra Nandni. The show launches 10 October, 8 pm.
