MUMBAI: Television is one of the fastest growing entertainment mediums. Actors are frequently appreciated for their performances, but as an audience, we often don’t pay heed to people who work endlessly behind the cameras to make the show a mega hit.
In order to celebrate the spirit of the people behind the lens, IndianTelevision.com introduces the 15th edition of our annual Indian Telly Technical Trade and Programming Awards, which recognize the best in television production, editing, writing, direction, styling, distribution, and creation.
One of the major factors in making any character look apt for his or her role is attire. That’s where a stylist steps in. From Ishita’s blouses in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Saumya’s pastel sarees in Shakti to Zoya’s beautiful costumes in Bepannah and Bela’s look in Naagin 3—all the characters become convincing with the help and input of a stylist.

Actors are always supposed to look their trendiest best, as they are always on the radar of the paparazzi and fashion police. Again, a stylist comes to their rescue to ensure this.
Stylist Hemlata Periwal is a reliable name in the industry and has styled an array of actresses. Actress Hina Khan nailed every look of hers in Bigg Boss Season 11 thanks to Hemlata’s hard work. She said, ‘It was a tedious task to style Hina for Bigg Boss 11. I worked for months on the different looks. I approached different designers and had to keep all the aspects like climate conditions and unique styles to zero upon each look of hers.’
Here’s to Hemlata.
