The cute and bubbly Monica Sehgal, who is making a mark as Radhika in Star Plus’ Manmarziyan (Swastik Productions) is living her dream of seeing herself on the screen every day.
Talking about her aspirations, the actress shared how she got a culture shock when she first moved to Mumbai. But wanting to fulfil her dreams of studying in St Xavier’s, Monica had braced herself for the hardships.
“The first difficulty was the size of the houses. I started living with seven girls in a room and 13 girls in total. When my dad first visited me, instead of sympathizing with me, he actually told me I lived in a zoo (laughs). Initially everything around was a culture shock for me but slowly and steadily I got used to things thankfully,” said the girl.
Talking further about the space crunch, the actress shared, “Also in Mumbai people believe in nuclear families, as for me I strictly believe that grand parents can really help in better upbringing of a child. Definitely I am open minded and quite modern in my thoughts, but I feel being close to your traditional roots is always a good thing. Grandparents not only share their experiences with you helping you out but their perceptions and views which are quite different from ours helps in analysing situations better.”
Monica apart from being an actress was also a national level badminton player and that definitely makes her stay close to sports. “I think our country needs to give attention to sports. The field is something that keeps us motivated constantly and I am proud that I was associated with sports so closely.”
Well said girl!!!
