MUMBAI: They say that matches are made in heaven, and one can find their soul mates at the most unexpected place and at time. Something similar happened in the case of popular television couple Hunar Hale and Mayank Gandhi. Despite being a part of the same industry, these too very surprisingly had an arranged marriage.

The duo very briefly met for a reading session for a television show (which was scrapped) and didn’t interact much, but they did exchange contact numbers. Sharing more details about their meeting Hunar said, ‘Later, Mayank messaged congratulating me for my show Dehleez and generally invited me over for New Year’s Eve with his family. As I did not have enough time off to visit my hometown, I thought it will be a good idea to spend New Year’s Eve with his family and him. That’s where I met his family and they liked me.’

Talking about her unpredictable roka, Hunar added, ‘One fine day, both our families met and they chatted for a while, and suddenly, they decided to do our roka. Mayank and I were shocked, but later, we decided to go forward with our families’ decision, as we both wanted to marry with our family’s choice.’

Talking about the reactions that she received on the wedding, she said, ‘A newspaper carried the news of our roka, and the first person to call me up all surprised was Aarti Singh. We are great friends and she knows Mayank as well. She was super surprised to learn about the news.’
