Kaizeen Daruvalla's 'sporty nature' to come to the fore in Yeh Hai Aashiqui

Kaizeen Daruvalla
Kaizeen Daruvalla and Nakul Sahdev will portray a very unique love tale on Disney Bindass’ Yeh Hai Aashiqui this weekend. The episode produced by BBC Worldwide Productions will be the journey of a budding tennis star, essayed by Kaizeen who grows in due course of time to become a tennis star. The story will also be about the very under-confident non-achiever, played by Nakul who would have always looked upon the girl as an inspiration and role model. The story will revolve around the manner in which the guy would unexpectedly fall in love with the tennis star, and how his life would go through a complete transformation. An interesting aspect of this particular episodic is that the production house actually rejected 2-3 girls before roping in Kaizeen for the central role of the tennis star. And Kaizeen fit the bill to the ‘T’, as she happened to be very ‘sporty’ in real life. For the uninitiated, Kaizeen has been a state-level throwball player, carom player, badminton player, and district-level long distance runner in her college days. And when the girl was asked to portray the role of a tennis star, she got into the skin of the character in quick time. Talking about this, Palki Malhotra, Creative Producer, BBC Worldwide told Tellychakkar.com, “Yes, we were extremely lucky to have found a girl so passionate about sports for this role. Kaizeen showed complete dedication, and shot under the most tiring and exhaustive situations. In fact, on one particular day, she had to slog it out and shoot for sequences wherein she was only playing the game of tennis. Rain played spoilsport, but the girl managed to give her shots even in pouring rain. Nakul who is a chirpy and confident guy in real life, had to underplay himself, and portray the rather diffident guy in the episodic, and he did a good job.” On her tennis experience shooting for the episodic, Kaizeen said, “I am a sporty person in real life. And this helped me a lot in playing this role. Yes, it was tough as I had never touched a tennis racket. But my past experiences in various other sports made it easier for me to follow the game and shoot for it. I can proudly say that I am well-versed in tennis now, and know about 50% of the game. I have to better myself in terms of the rules of the game, and I will be a player myself (smiles). Having said this, I had a tough time shooting for the tennis sequences. I had to gulp in painkillers to continue playing the game. Every bone in my body ached, but I had a great time. I enjoyed shooting with the team of BBC for this episodic.” This particular love tale will go on air on 17 August (Sunday).
