Megha Gupta bags the lead in Star Plus' next?

Star Plus is all set to launch a new drama series based on the life of Mahesh Bhatt.

The makers, Guroudev Bhalla and Dhaval Gada though have changed the background with a female playing the protagonist based on the filmmaker's character. Titled Naamkaran, the show will focus on a child trying to bring a legitimate name to her and her mother.

Now coming to lead, the beautiful and talented Megha Gupta has been finalised as per our sources information.

If sources are to be believed, "Megha is in talks to play the lead character named Asha. Her character would not just be an emotional and loving girl, but completely strong and independent person. She would challenge her destiny and change it."

Megha who has been part of shows like Kkavyanjali, Kumkum, Mamta, C.I.D. and Main Teri Parchhain Hoon will make a comeback to daily after a long time. Although she had been making appearances in a number of episodics. It would surely be exciting to have her back on TV if she goes on to sign the contract.

We tried reaching Megha but she remained unavailable to comment.

We also dropped a text message to Producer Guruodev Bhalla and the channel representative but did not get any revert till the time of filing the story.
