Talented actor Dakssh Ajit Singh, who has mostly portrayed strong roles on television like Gaurav in Maryada and Raj Rana Bahadur in Maharana Pratap, is back again on small screen to essay the role of Tripurari in Colors’ venture Ishq Ka Rang Safed (Film Farm).
When we engaged into a quick conversation with the man, the power packed performer opened up his thoughts. Speaking about his character, the talented man quipped, “I am playing the role of an illegitimate son of a renowned Pandit of the city and hiding my actual identity I work as my father’s follower. Though Tripurari is adamant about destroying his father for the wrongs he has done to him and his mother, the only reason he refrains from doing so is for his mother’s love towards her lover”.
Asked about the content of the show Dakssh replied, “I personally believe that this one is a very sensitive issue which should be dealt with care. I believe that government should encourage the causes of widow remarriage and there should be proper policies regarding the same. With due respect to our religion, I would like to say that the rituals that we follow now are outdated. And like mobile apps, it’s time religions also get new versions”.
Do you think television is gradually changing in terms of content? “Definitely that is happening. Makers are becoming bolder, with audiences accepting such things easily. And as long as the issues are dealt with empathy and not being mocked, I am completely up for this positive initiative”.
Finally when we quizzed him about his favourite role, he commented, “So, far Gaurav has remained my favourite character, as that was sketched in a different way. And now, going by the development of Tripurari, I am sure soon it will also take a very special place in my heart”.
Well said Dakssh, even we hope that this role becomes indeed special for you.
