He’s truly the heart of the show, where his loud, heart-felt laugh and shaayaris add much more fun to The Kapil Sharma Show.

Yes, we are definitely talking about cricketer-turned-shaayar Navjot Singh Sidhu, who’s rumoured to be quitting the popular The Kapil Sharma Show, a leading news site has stated. The reason for his decision is said to stem from his need to concentrate on the upcoming Punjab politics, the site added.

His wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu told the site, “Sidhu will now completely focus on Punjab politics. And that is why he has recorded all the shows till 30th September and has already said goodbye to the cast.” His banter with host Kapil Sharma, along with his special poetry from Bollywood's leading ladies made the show rather popular.

The former cricketer allegedly charged over Rs 25 crore per year for his appearance on the comedy show.

While talking about his political ambitions to another leading news site, Sidhu said, “We shall not confuse the people of Punjab but give them clarity to vote in Punjab’s interest. We will not divide the anti-incumbency vote bank which could indirectly benefit the corroborative and collusive Badal-Amarinder nexus which has plundered Punjab in the last 15 years.”

Looks like he is all set to take the world politics by storm.
