Motherhood is the best thing that can happen in a woman’s life.

Television actress Prachee Paandya, who found fame with parts in TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi and movie ABCD 2, is set to return to small screen with Colors’ upcoming show Ek Shringaar... Swabhimaan (Rajshri Productions).

The show depicts the story of a mother Sharda (Prachee), who is determined to provide best education to her daughters, Meghna (Sangeita Chauhan) and Naina (Ankita Sharma) and also find a suitable match for them in a family who would allow her daughters’ career to flourish rather than tie them down to domesticity.

At the press conference of the show’s launch, Prachee spoke to Tellychakkar.com. We asked her the rationale on playing the mother to two grown ups: “When I was 22 years old, Ekta (Kapoor) asked me to play a mother’s role in Kyunki. She convinced me and said that you cannot lose this big opportunity. It was a tough decision that I made in life. I took it as a new graph in my career. I love playing Indian roles on TV and I found this show very promising, challenging and different from my earlier projects.”

We all know that apart from being an actress she is also a great dancer. So does she manage to take time out for dancing, she shared, “Every Sundays I make sure to take time out for dance. I don’t shoot on Sundays and this clause is also mentioned in my contract.”

To keep the passion alive is key and Prachee is following the right path. During the conversation she mentioned her thoughts on dance reality shows. She’s of the opinion that the acts are more westernised and gymnastics driven.

“It’s very upsetting when I see Bharatnatyam and Kathak dances being shown in a very different way on these platforms. The sad part is kids are made to believe the same and asked to perform the similar way which is absolutely wrong.”

Well, point taken!!!

Swabhimaan’s core plot has strong layer of motherhood. This is what she said about being a mom in real life: “I am a very strict mother. I am particular about timings and cleanness. I don’t like when the house is in mess.”

Summing up, here’s her expert tip to balance personal and professional life:  “My husband has been my great support. He helps me in household work and also in taking care of our daughter. So having a good partner is key.”

Good luck Prachee!
