SAB TV's Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir to go off air

SAB TV seems to be bringing some major changes in its programming. We recently wrote about FIR making way for Frames Productions’ Tu Mere Agal Bagal. FIR now will air bi-weekly for an hour at the 9pm time slot (weekends-starting from 12 July). We have further learnt that the channel has now planned to axe its satirical series - Lapataganj – Ek Baar Phir (Garima Productions). “The show will air its last episode on 15 August. The cast and crew have been informed about it,” said a credible industry source. With Lapataganj-Ek Baar Phir getting off the airwaves, SAB will soon launch new shows to pump up its programming line-up and aim at higher TRPs. First season of Lapataganj hit great heights of popularity but sadly season 2 did not earn similar kind of response from the audiences. We tried contacting SAB TV Channel Head Anooj Kapoor but he remained unavailable. Ashwini Dheer of Garima Productions too remained out of reach.
