Sony TV’s much-awaited historical on Bajirao Mastani is surely on the anvil, as work is happening at a fast pace.
Produced by Sunjoy Wadhwa’s Sphere Origins and Nilanjana Purkayasstha’s Invictus T Mediaworks, the big-budget show has already roped in Anuja Sathe, Manish Wadhwa as part of its cast.
We now hear of seasoned performer, Sanjay Batra being finalized for a meaty role.
Sanjay Batra will play the role of Dhanaji, the very famous Maratha General who took it upon himself to groom Bajirao from childhood, to become a great warrior.
As per sources, “Dhanaji’s character will be very important, as he will be the one who will give all the impetus needed to the Maratha Kingdom post the demise of Shivaji.”
Sanjay Batra has been a loyalist with Sphere Origins, having played challenging and powerful roles in their shows Jyoti, Balika Vadhu and Piya Rangrezz.
In Bajirao, he will yet again have a powerful role, as his character will be shown as a great warrior.
We tried contacting Sanjay, but could not get through to him. The actor was last seen in Zee TV’s Kaala Teeka.
