Shama Sikandar of Ye Meri Life Hai fame is all set for her return to small screen with SAB TV’s fantasy show Baal Veer, produced by Optimystix.
Shama in a conversation with Tellychakkar.com briefs us about her role, “I play an evil fairy, called Bhayankar Pari who is at constant loggerheads with the lead kid (Dev Joshi) who wants to save the world from her wrath.”
Raise a question whether all fairies are only meant to be good and she states, “Yes, but that is the fun. Some past story has forced her to turn negative.”
Shama, who was last seen in Yashraj Films’ Seven on Sony Entertainment Television, further shares that she loves this fantasy genre. “Lot of money has been spent on visual delight and computer graphics, and let me assure you that this is not your run-of-the-mill costume drama. I have got very expensive dresses. My contact lenses have been specially procured from Dubai. The hair (red with gold) and make-up has also been classily done. It was quite a challenge to get my look (black nail paint and colored lens) and character right. She has to be glamorous and pretty as she is a fairy, at the same time she should also have a scary look.”
On taking up a negative role, Shama tells us, “I have always played positive characters before and it comes easily to me as I am one in real life. But in every human being, there are both positive and negative feelings. At times, even I have felt the need to harm someone but could never do it. Hence all these negative vibes get boiled up inside. I could never release them as my conscience would never permit me to hurt anyone. So the moment producer Vipul Shah offered me this role, I grabbed it as it would give me a chance to vent my pent up emotions.”
Shama, this is certainly a great way to recharge your batteries.
