Shravan Reddy talks about the hypocrite practice of 'devdasi'

Shravan Reddy

The young, dynamic actor Shravan Reddy, who has been a part of the very popular show Manmarziyan, is all geared up for his upcoming show on Colors, Krishndasi (Optimystix & Padmini Kutty).

Excited to be a part of this big ticket project, Sharvan recently spoke to us. When asked about the reason behind opting for the role, Shravan, replied, “The background and the fresh concept of the show definitely attracted me. Moreover, my character is another reason for giving a positive nod to the show. It will have many shades and the audience will be left guessing about my true nature. While on one hand I will appear as Aradhya’s (Sana Amin Sheikh) knight in shining armour, a turmoil- friction will go on as I belong to the caste who oppose to such customs”.

Shravan went on saying, “Though we are aware about the term devdasi, we don’t posses much knowledge about the practice. We surely have a broad idea about it but not the hypocrisy that lies underneath”.

Don’t you think that in a time when youth content is ruling, your show being a bold one might lose its appeal? “From my previous experiences I have learnt one thing, the show makers of current time know how to play it safe. On one hand, family dramas rule the GECs, on the other hand, those who want to try their hands in something new and different opt for digital medium”.

So, any iconic roles you would like to play on small screen? Shravan quipped, “I believe in putting my efforts in something new. Once a character is done there is hardly anything to add to that role in a new manner. Hence, I would like to try something new always”.

Good luck young man.
