Simran Kaur, of Anamika fame is certainly on a high, as she has recently been on a travelling spree with her husband, Sikandar Singh Birk.
Her holidays have stretched to places like New York, Bali, Thailand, and to UP and Delhi in India.
Talking about life after marriage, Simran says, “Life has indeed been beautiful. I have no deadlines, and am given a lot of freedom by my family. I am enjoying life like never before.”
Unlike many women, Simran does not have a liking for shopping, but is lucky to have got a husband who is a complete shopaholic. “Yes, he is a shopaholic. In fact, his entire family is very posh, and shop a lot. So I got whatever I wanted when my husband shopped for me. However, when we were in New York recently, I shopped a lot, and bought varieties of bags, clothes, shoes etc. Since I am married into a family which loves shopping, I am getting to discover the love for it.”
Simran who has had a break after Anamika, is rearing to get back to the limelight now after her marriage break. She’s done lead roles in Na Aana Is Des Laado and Love Ne Mila Di Jodi. “I have done three shows, and my next role needs to challenge the actor in me. I do not want to repeat any of the characters I have played so far.”
Ask her whether she is game to doing historical shows, and Simran clearly states, “No, I cannot do that. I am not the one to wear those huge and heavy jewels and be with the costume for the whole day. Indeed, hats off to the actors who are part of costume drama.”
On the kind of role she is looking for, Simran avers, “I want to be part of a nice good show. A light-hearted comedy is what I am looking at. When I was away travelling, I got offered variety of good roles, and I had to decline them. It is time for me to get back now.”
