Sneha Wagh elated after winning award for individual contribution towards nation and society

Sneha Wagh
The beautiful and talented Sneha Wagh currently seen in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera on Star Plus is on cloud nine these days. This is because she has received an award by a social welfare forum- Image Welfare Achievers Forum for her individual contribution towards the nation and society. “I was pleasantly surprised when I was informed that I had been chosen for the award. I guess I am being felicitated for the strong women characters that I have played, be it in Jyoti or now the single rural mother in Yash Patnaik’s Veera,” says a jubilant Sneha. Talking about her character in real life, the actress avers, “I strongly stand for woman empowerment and feel very sad looking at the condition of the fair sex in India in contrast to the Western nations where females are racing ahead of their male counterparts. What is really disturbing is that this gender injustice is happening not only in villages but in big cities and metros as well. The main thing is that women need to stop looking at others for help; rather they must stand up for themselves.” Describing what such an award means to her, Sneha observes, “Here I must again thank the organizers for bestowing me with the award for we artistes always look out for a kind of recognition of our efforts. And my winning the award will embolden me to take up more projects that depict a strong woman. I am nicely aware that what we show on screen serves as beacon of hope to many suffering women who might draw the strength to change things for themselves and their families.” Talking about herself, Sneha maintains, “Since I am personally very strong, I am sure that my will power must have rubbed off on the characters as well. I, for once, would also like to be an active participant in women emancipation movement in the years to come. I am just 26 and have a long way to go.” Truly put Sneha!!!!
